The Adventurers: Michelle and Holly

The Adventure: Today’s adventure wasn’t one to a foreign land. It was one that took place close to home. We spent our after school time at Eagle Creek. We walked along the paths, taking in the chilly spring afternoon. At one point, we found ourselves, staring out into the blowing waters of the creek. If we stared long enough, we could imagine ourselves standing in the same position on a warm, warm beach, with sand between our toes and the waves of the ocean rolling over our feet. But once again, it was all just our imaginations playing with our minds. We were still in Indiana, and there was still fun waiting for us. Farther along the path, grew a patch of yellow daffodils. It was a pretty sight, with no other flowers around, just those fresh little ones, growing beneath the shade of the trees. It’s funny how something so simple, like a random patch of flowers, can make you feel so happy. But is sure does.

Ahhhh…Spring at last! Last Saturday was basically the first “warm” day here in Indiana since, well, what feels like forever. We’ve finally reached that light at the end of the long, dark, depressing tunnel that is winter. Birds chirping, snow melting, warm sunshine, and people out and about…Of course, we had to get out and enjoy the day as well!

So we decided to make our own little excursion to the canal in downtown Indianapolis. But this meant that we would have to each travel in our own cars again, and also, we were venturing into a slightly more unknown area. I mean, city driving can be intimidating! However, me being the most experienced of the three of us (city-wise), I put my big girl leggings on and led the way to great success, parallel parking and all.

At the canal, we walked, talked, and got majorly stared at for taking pictures in what most people probably thought were very strange places. But that’s exactly what makes doing these things so much fun. No matter what, we always find something to laugh about. Maybe that’s why we like spending so much time together!

(Shirt –  Forever 21 | Thread Necklace – gift | Skirt – Target)

This is the outfit I wore during school today. I got this fruity pebble (it reminds me of the cereal!) necklace as a gift for Christmas, but today was the first day that I’ve worn it. I just never knew what to really wear it with. When I have a bold piece of jewelry that I want to wear, I try to base the rest of my outfit around that one piece. Today, I decided to pair it with this purple top and a simple black skirt. I felt very colorful and bold. If I was shopping in a store, I wouldn’t immediately pick up a necklace like this, but today I really liked it. It helped in making today a happy day.

The Adventurers: Michelle, Holly, and Jessica

The Adventure: With three girls and three cars, we headed out and caravanned to the canal. We took a long walk through the fresh air, enjoying a gorgeous Saturday. There was not one bad thing about this adventure. It was pure perfection. This was the kick-start of our many adventures to come.

Two weekends ago, we went to the art museum to take a picture for a Valentine’s Day photo contest. It turned out that pictures with art other than your own were not allowed. So all that thought and hard work was put to waste. Well, not quite.

The theme of the contest was to take a picture including a sign with the name of some”one” whom you love. But I love many things and I’m terribly indecisive, so naturally, I took several different signs. This meant that I had to discover what it feels like to be a true model, meaning that I had to stand out in windy, below freezing, snowy Indiana weather without a coat. Luckily, Michelle took pictures quickly, and my hands never quite reached the point of having to be amputated.

My love sign options included things like pine trees, Blink 182, Angels & Airwaves, and my dogs, but ultimately, I chose California and Tom DeLonge to be my two truest loves. The place where I dream to (and will) live and the musical genius who is my hero.

Even though the pictures weren’t able to be used for their main purpose, I was overall proud of the thought that we put in to them. Maybe next time, I’ll read the guidelines first. And hopefully we’ll have warmer weather.
